Support continues for the Port Allegany Campaign for United Way, with officials announcing that more than 60% of the $15,000 goal has been raised since solicitation efforts began in August.
This year’s appeal is the first to be managed by the United Way of the Bradford Area, and Executive Director Mandi Wilton Davis said the local personnel could not be more pleased with the status of the campaign, or the transition, so far.
“Our efforts have really been embraced by the generous donors in the Port Allegany community,” said Davis. “We are so appreciative of the support we’ve received over the past several months as we’ve worked closely with current and former volunteers, as well as agency representatives, to continue the campaign successes that people have been used to.”
Davis said the fundraising will continue until January 5, 2017. The application for funding will be available to eligible non-profit organizations beginning February 1, with the submission deadline being March 1 and the allocation of funds scheduled for April 1.
“We’re looking forward to not only meeting, but surpassing, that $15,000 goal this year,” Davis said. “We’re really on a good pace, so thank you to those who’ve already made their contribution. For those who haven’t, there’s still time, and you’ll be hearing from us again soon.”
