CASA of McKean County’s Executive Director, Kristen Tim, has been announced as the 2016 recipient of the Excellence in Representation Award, according to United Way Director Mandi Wilton Davis.
The Excellence in Representation award was created to recognize an outstanding agency representative who best exemplifies United Way’s mission within their own organization, who participates in the annual campaign, and possesses a working knowledge of United Way and how it benefits the various programs and services in the community.
“Although CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) has been a funded agency for just two years, in that time Kristen has been a true collaborator – not just with the United Way, but with so many other local organizations. But, for us (the UWBA) specifically, she has been a leader and advocate, and the knowledge and expertise she has shared on our behalf is really immeasurable,” said Davis. “Our county is so fortunate to have someone of Kristen’s caliber leading one of the most impactful organizations available to our residents.”
“When our family moved to McKean County in June of 2013 we really had no idea what path we would take, but we knew we were in the right place. While we are not “from” here, McKean County and Bradford have become our home and it is a privilege to be able to serve our community in this capacity, in collaboration with many other caring individuals, providers, and agencies like the United Way.”
Tim was named the Executive Director of CASA of McKean County in 2014. Prior to being hired as the sole staff member, she served on the program’s Planning and Steering Committees in 2013 and was a CASA Volunteer in Lehigh County from 2008 to 2011.
She and her husband, John, reside in Bradford with their sons, Jack and Dale.
The Excellence in Representation award will be given at the United Way’s annual Red Feather Volunteer recognition luncheon on May 5th. Reservations may be made by calling the United Way office.
