The Smethport Campaign for United Way officially closed the 2014 campaign, having raised $13,800 of the $15,000 goal.
“I am very proud of the success of the Smethport campaign, even though we did not reach the monetary goal,” said Executive Director Mandi Wilton Davis. “Aside from raising more than we have since we began managing the solicitation efforts in Smethport, we increased our donor base, and have established relationships that we will continue to grow and foster, which will only lead to future successes.”
Since 2012, the Smethport Campaign for United Way has seen an increased goal annually, and Davis feels confidently that $15,000 is attainable for the 2015 campaign.
“The residents of Smethport and the surrounding communities have shown how generous they are over the past several years,” said Davis, “and we know they feel very strongly about impacting the lives of their family, friends and neighbors through the agencies funded from our annual appeal.”
The allocation process will be different for agencies looking to benefit from the 2014 campaign, says Davis. Officials have set a deadline of June 1st for applications to be received at the United Way office, with disbursement of funds to take place monthly from July 1 through December 1. That application will be made available on the United Way website on April 1st.
